Owen Richards

Owen Richards

A little bit of background information:

Originally from Kent, I started my sales career at our Sister Company (Forrest Marketing Group) in Sydney, Australia, when I went travelling for 12 months in 2007-2008. I started as a telesales executive and - having planned to be in Australia for 12 months - I was sponsored by the company and ended up staying for 8 years, during which time I became Head of Sales and Operations.

In 2015, myself and my Wife, Amy, moved back to the UK to start a family and in early 2016, I Co-Founded Air Marketing Group with business partner, and Managing Director of Forrest Marketing Group, Richard Forrest.

A little bit about your current role:

My role at Air is to strategically drive the company forward and he works closely with our leadership team to ensure that we’re delivering value for our clients and employees alike. I am is passionate about providing a great place to work and creating careers, so put a lot of energy and focus into developing individuals within our team. My relentless positivity and ambitious nature keeps us all focused on the goals of our organisation and I am known for my big ideas and ‘let’s make it happen’ attitude.

An interesting fact about yourself:

I once completed a half marathon in 1 hour and 41 minutes (and 13 seconds).

Richard Forrest

Richard Forrest

Richard is the Founder of Forrest Marketing Group (Air’s Parent Company) and co-founder of Air. Although he is a forensic scientist by trade, Richard established
FMG in 2006 which allowed him to surround himself with a team of people who love talking as much as he does.

Marco Alfano-Rogers

A little bit of background information:

After growing up in Guilford, my family decided to follow a lifestyle of sun, sea and beaches and moved to Devon when I was 16. After realising that university wasn’t the right choice for me and a week away from beginning my course in Bristol, I decided to gain some real-life business experience – a few weeks later I had a business up and running. However, 2 years down the line I decided that I wanted to experience more and expand my knowledge. Air was the perfect solution! I was employee number 4 and through blood sweat and tears I have watched Air grow into the company that it is in under 2 years.

A little bit about your current role:

As Client Services Director, my role is simple – the performance of the company falls on my shoulders. For this reason, I am always keeping an eye on everyone and everything; whether it’s our Business Development Executives, Account Managers, Directors, clients and their campaigns, recruitment, revenue or company strategy. Reporting directly to our Managing Director, Owen Richards, and working closely with our Operations Director, Shaun Weston, I help to maintain the smooth running of the company.

An interesting fact about yourself:

I forgot to turn up to my first Air interview… I’ve never admitted this to Owen before!

Shaun Weston

A little bit of background information:

I am a self-confessed pop culture geek. I have over 12 years industry experience and enjoy the analytical elements of business development. After working for a large European managed print company in Portsmouth, I relocated to the South West at the end of 2016. I came with a young family, seeking new challenges and a better weather.

A little bit about your current role:

After joining Air as a Business Development Executive, I am now the company’s Operations Director. Working alongside, Owen Richards and Marco Alfano-Rogers,I am responsible for managing all of our systems and processes to ensure that the company runs smoothly, and our clients get the best possible service.

An interesting fact about yourself:

I am a former member of a 5-piece Hip-Hop group, The Bar Staff, that gained national exposure by being featured on Radio 1 and performing at several large arenas across the UK.

Verity Wotton

Verity Wotton

A little bit of background information:

I’ve worked in a variety of different roles before finding my passion for marketing; from a stint working for Cadburys to managing a new lettings department for a recognisable Westcountry estate agents.

I’ve worked in Marketing since obtaining my Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) qualifications in 2016 and becoming a member of the CIM. With experience agency and in-house roles, I have a diverse range of experience with both offline and online marketing. With a passion for strategically planned marketing activity that delivers ROI and utilises clever targeting to actually get you in front of your target audience with the right message.

I joined Air Marketing Group in January 2018, as the in-house Marketing Manager. To be honest, my journey has been an exciting whirlwind ever since.

A little bit of information about your current role:

Air had identified an opportunity to offer our clients even more than just telemarketing – and satisfy their increasing marketing needs by starting a sister marketing agency. In June 2018, Roots to Market was born.

My role is to run our sister company Roots to Market, assisting our clients in both strategic and tactical marketing activity to grow their business and brand awareness. Our team deliver a variety of marketing activity for a range of B2B industries.

Alongside this, Roots to Market also continue to plan and run the marketing for Air Marketing Group. Assisting in the exponential growth of Air.

An interesting fact about yourself:

I love anything adventurous! Amongst many different weird and wonderful activities, I’ve climbed The Great Wall of China whilst it was snowing – and completed a skydive for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Simon Murthwaite

New Business Manager

Simon Murthwaite

A little bit of background information:

I’ve worked across multiple verticals and gained over a decade of experience within sales. This experience has allowed me to develop skills in consultation, strategy and campaign execution. My background is varied, including recruitment, events management and FCA regulated financial services. I am originally from Liverpool but have been living in the South West for over 5 fives. After spending time in Cornwall and Plymouth, I’ve now settled in Exeter. I joined Air as a Business Development Executive with a belief in the company values.

A little bit about your current role:

My decision to start a career with Air was a wise one and I have recently been promoted to New Business Manager with a clear path of progression ahead of me. I really enjoy working with Air as the office culture, environment and my day-to-day role is always exciting. My role sees me engaging with new business prospects and helping companies to outsource their sales acceleration and create strong market strategies.

Interesting facts about yourself:

I won an under 12s sandcastle building competition… in an ASDA carpark.

My favourite film is Love Actually, it’s a real tear jerker.

I recently completed a dream foodie tour to Tuscany after over bidding on it at a prize auction…

Ashley Heyworth

A little bit of background information:

After attending the University of Portsmouth for a year, I decided that university wasn’t for me. So, I chose to pursue client facing role and started my career as a Project Manager at Virgin Media Business, later progressing onto an Account Management role. After the birth of my son I chose to move to Devon and I’ve never looked back, the beach life is definitely for me! On moving to Devon, I took a job as a Business Development Co-ordinator at a large construction company, I was quickly promoted to Business Development Executive. I realised I wanted to move into a sales role, and that’s where Air comes in. The company offered me a fast-paced, team focused environment and I’ve been lucky to witness its growth month on month.

A little bit about your current role:

As Account Director I currently manage a varied client base including Funding Circle. My role is demanding but rewarding; I am responsible for making sure that everything and everyone is working properly, but more importantly that my team and clients are happy. I am also a key point of call for members of the team wishing further their careers, a vital part of Air’s ethos – we want everyone to succeed during their time with us.

An interesting fact about yourself:

When I was younger I played Roller Hockey, representing England overseas several times!

Annie Blundell

A little bit of background information:

I have over 5 years of experience in B2B and B2C telesales and marketing. I first got the ‘buzz’ for the sales life in 2013 after working for an international events company in London. Whilst working there I was one of the top sales performers and its only gone up from there. After leaving London, I am now back in my home town and enjoying my role here at Air.

A little bit about your current role:

Having started as a Business Development Executive, I was already managing campaigns within my probation, after a series of swift promotions I am now an Account Director, overseeing some of Air’s largest client campaigns. I love the day-to-day tasks that my job brings. Whether I’m managing the team, discussing business strategies with clients or getting on the phone, it all gives me the opportunity to use my previous experiences to help the Business Development Executives to develop and exceed their targets. The interaction with both clients and colleagues means I never have a dull day!

I’ve been to more music festivals than I have spin classes!

Keryn Seal

A little bit of background information:

I haven’t come from a traditional sales or telemarketing background. Before working in this industry, I worked as a professional athlete, a youth mentor and in sports development. It is the transferable skills which I gained from these experiences which have allowed me to thrive in the competitive and driven office at Air. My past has given me the knowledge of how to turn good to great.

A little bit about your current role:

I am currently an Account Director at Air. The role keeps me on my toes and every day is different. I am responsible for a large amount of client interaction; from setting up and managing accounts to fostering strong relationship with our retained clients or selling Air to prospective clients I am always involved. As well as looking after the clients, I also look after my team, motivating the Business Development Executives at Air and helping them to develop and exceed targets.

An interesting fact about yourself:

I was part of the Great Britain Blind Football team from 2005 – 2018, captaining for 4 years between 2012 – 2016. I recently retired after the 2018 World Cup with 127 international caps and 20 goals under my belt.

A little bit of background info:

Django is a bundle of energy and always on hand to entertain #TeamAir. He has now amassed two years’ experience as office energiser and tail-wagger.

A little bit about his current role:

Popping in once a week to supervise #TeamAir's energy levels is a serious role for Django, and one which he doesn’t take lightly. With a chipper bark he makes himself known in the morning and immediately puts a smile on the faces of the staff.

An interesting fact about yourself:

Django is scared of ants and anything else tiny that moves.
